Job Type: Permanent Full-time

Probation Wage: $24.75 + Shift Premium + Skill premium

*Pay ranges are dependent on shift and experience

 

Shifts: Day Shift (Monday to Friday: 6:30am-3:00pm), Afternoon Shift (Monday to Friday: 3:00pm-11:30pm), Night Shift (Sunday evening to Friday morning: 10:00pm-6:30am)

 

**Must be flexible to work all shifts. Determined shifts are straight shifts**

 

MIG or TIG Welder - KEY Responsibilities:

  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (or the “Act”) and the regulations, and Mott policies
  • Read Mott drawings to determine requirements
  • MIG or TIG weld different products and materials
  • Set up jigs to square products
  • Weld & test first sample and record results
  • Set controllers to required heat matching type of steel and thickness
  • Fit correct parts together as per drawings
  • Verify welded assemblies to drawings and place on carts
  • Maintain integrity of weld continuously through the process
  • Clean welds with acid wash
  • Metal finish products when needed
  • Perform other duties as required

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience as a MIG or TIG Welder
  • Must understand welding procedure and heating effect to eliminate product warping
  • Ability to read blueprints and data sheets
  • Ability to work with power hand tools (i.e. cordless drill)
  • Must know how to use a tape measure
  • Medium math skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Physically fit for heavy lifting of >35 lbs
