Location: Waterdown, ON
Pay Rate: $32.24 + shift premiums
Schedule: Day Shift: 6:00am to 2:30pm / Afternoon Shift: 2:30pm to 10:00pm / Night Shift: 10:00pm to 6:30am
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for operating equipment, monitoring quality, assisting with maintenance, and supporting daily plant operations.
- Operate glass cleaning and glass operations equipment, including legacy plant machinery.
- Package 1000 kg bulk bags of product using bulk bag loading systems.
- Report and repair inconsistencies using standard procedures.
- Monitor quality and record production data.
- Work safely in compliance with company safety, environmental, and operating procedures.
- Load customer product pick-ups and unload deliveries.
- Clean and maintain plant equipment and facilities.
- Operate forklift, scissor lift, and front-end loader for glass transfer and waste removal.
- Work at heights using fall protection equipment.
- Maintain peak production performance and follow SOPs for all operations.
- Operate control panels and automated systems from PLC interfaces.
- Sample and analyze finished products per quality procedures.
- Record and confirm daily production data.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Evaluate raw materials and finished products to meet internal and customer specifications.
- Report non-conformities and assist in investigating customer complaints.
- Maintain written quality and production records.
- Communicate effectively with management using software tools (SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections with the Operations Mechanic.
- Complete wear part maintenance and screen replacements as defined by SOPs.
- Safely use, maintain, and clean small tools and equipment.
- Perform other duties as directed by plant management.
Skills and Experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver heavy items.
- Previous experience in production, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong ability to follow production plans and SOPs.
- Technical diploma, relevant training, or equivalent work experience.
- Welding or Red Seal mechanical training is an asset.
- Previous experience with forklifts, loaders, and scissor lifts is preferred.
- Strong math, verbal, and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
- Frequent lifting/moving up to 35 lbs, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Good vision abilities (close, color, depth perception, peripheral, and focus adjustment).
