A leading industrial manufacturing organization is seeking an Industrial Operations Supervisor to join their team.
We are currently hiring an Industrial Operations Supervisor for a manufacturing facility in the Hamilton area.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Operations Supervisor, you will report directly to the Plant Manager or designate and be responsible for overseeing daily plant operations. You will work closely with quality control teams and other internal departments to ensure production targets are met, product quality standards are maintained, and all safety protocols are followed.
Responsibilities include:
- Direct and manage plant operations and supervise a team of 12–15 production employees
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by training and guiding production personnel on equipment use, control points, and operational procedures
- Establish and monitor plant performance for production and quality standards
- Control and minimize labour overtime and equipment repair costs
- Maintain plant facilities and equipment; recommend improvements or replacements to increase efficiency
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs
- Promote shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among staff
- Ensure proper operation of production equipment and coordinate repairs when required
- Actively participate in and support workplace safety initiatives
- Conduct daily meetings with production teams
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering of supplies and raw materials
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent multitasking and time management skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and mechanical aptitude
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Proven experience as an Operations Supervisor or in a similar manufacturing role
- Experience managing manufacturing equipment and process improvement initiatives
- High School Diploma required; a diploma or degree in a related field is considered an asset
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing operations processes
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking on the production floor
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying climates and weather conditions
