Our client in the Waterdown area is currently seeking an experienced Glass Operations Technician to join their growing operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined production professional with experience in continuous flow manufacturing, automated equipment, process troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and quality control.

Available Shifts

  • Days: Monday to Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Afternoons: Monday to Friday | 2:30 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Nights: Sunday to Thursday | 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment within a continuous flow production environment
  • Support glass processing operations, material transfer, and automated production systems
  • Monitor, sample, and analyze finished product according to established quality procedures and specifications
  • Identify product inconsistencies, process deviations, and quality concerns, making adjustments as required
  • Troubleshoot operational issues involving mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Quickly identify root causes of process interruptions and take corrective action to minimize downtime
  • Operate control panels and PLC / HMI-based automated systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and routine equipment servicing
  • Complete wear-part replacements, screen changes, and minor mechanical maintenance
  • Support plant housekeeping, tool care, and equipment cleanliness
  • Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and front-end loaders
  • Load and unload raw materials, finished products, and incoming deliveries
  • Accurately complete production reports, quality documentation, and maintenance records
  • Work in full compliance with company safety, environmental, and operational procedures
  • Assist in training and supporting new team members
  • Contribute to a strong culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, glass, food, industrial production, or continuous flow environments
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot process issues and equipment faults
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience supporting production equipment
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
  • Strong understanding of quality control procedures and product sampling
  • Ability to work independently while following SOPs and production schedules
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical diploma in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or related field
    OR
  • Equivalent combination of hands-on production and maintenance experience

Assets include:

  • Mechanical Red Seal / Millwright-related training
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, screens, or automated production systems
  • Previous experience operating forklifts, loaders, and scissor lifts
  • Experience working with HMI / PLC interfaces
  • Strong and documented safety record / safety achievements
