Our client is seeking Welder / Fitters for their Brantford facility. This is a hands-on welding role reporting to the department leader, responsible for reading blueprints, setting up controllers and jigs, and welding various products accurately.
Must be able to attend in-person interviews in Hamilton, ON.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Read drawings and blueprints to determine welding requirements
- Perform MIG or TIG welding on different products and materials
- Weld and test first samples, recording results
- Set controllers to required heat and settings to match steel type and thickness
- Fit and assemble parts according to drawings
- Verify welded assemblies and place on carts for further processing
- Clean welds using acid wash
- Finish metal products as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year of MIG or TIG welding experience
- Understand welding procedures and heat effects to prevent warping
- Ability to read blueprints and data sheets
- Comfortable using power hand tools (e.g., cordless drill)
- Skilled in measuring and layout using tape measures
- Physically fit for lifting >35 lbs
