Job Full Description
Our client, a compassionate non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, is seeking a skilled Part-Time Administrative Assistant to join their team. This contract role, spanning until December 31, offers a unique chance to make a difference while gaining valuable experience. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor and record tenant rents, ensuring accurate tracking of payments and arrears
- Maintain up-to-date records of tenant arrears and honorarium payments
- Serve as point of contact for room bookings for the management team
- Oversee printer management, including supply ordering and troubleshooting
- Respond to general inquiries and direct to relevant personnel
- Liaise with organizational accounting firm on basic accounting processes and information gathering
- Provide support to the management team and Manager of Human Resources, including recruitment processes, booking staff training, and maintaining police record check database
- Assist with staff event coordination and tracking attendance
- Maintain training records and perform follow-ups with staff
- Respond to requests for support from the management team
- Perform other duties as required
Required skills and qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field, with a focus on office administrative practices
- Minimum 2 years of experience in office administration, with a strong understanding of administrative procedures
- Asset: experience in expense management, procurement, or financial administration
- Proven ability to maintain organized systems and implement sound office practices
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, with proficiency in Outlook and internal software systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Ability to deal with diverse and challenging personalities with empathy and a non-judgmental approach
- Comfortable interacting with various audiences in a professional manner
- Ability to wear multiple hats and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment
Wage: $25.00 to $27.00 per hour based on experience.
Schedule: 7.5 hours per day, 30 hours per week (with flexibility to work 24 hours per week as needed)
Hours: 8:00am to 4:00pm
