Take your machining expertise to the next level! Our client, a renowned high-precision machine shop in Ottawa's West end, is looking for a skilled Senior CNC Lathe Setup Technician to contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions and deliver exceptional results.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- MUST have minimum 5 years’ CNC Programming & Setup experience specifically for Lathes – (Milling only experience is not sufficient)
- Must have previous experience reading and understanding drawings/blueprints
- Certificate or diploma in CNC Programming considered an asset
- Experience with Fusion 360 considered an asset
- Must have lived in Canada for last 5 consecutive years to obtain government security clearance and pass controlled goods security assessment
- Clean Criminal Record
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong English communication skills
- Understanding of quality standards in regulated industries (AS9100 / ISO 9001) an asset
- Keen attention to detail
- Team player mentality
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T specifications
- Import models into CAM software
- Program and edit part programs in Fusion 360
- Determine sequence for CNC machine operations
- Choose and load correct cutting tools for the jobs
- Adjust machine settings to desired product specifications
- Troubleshoot issues during manufacturing processes
- Complete quality control during manufacturing stage and on final products using calibrated measuring tools
- Modify existing programs to increase efficiency
- Perform regular inspections of tools and equipment
- Provide guidance to junior machinists and apprentices
- Other duties as assigned
Schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.
Starting salary range: $70,000 to $85,000 per year
