Job Full Description
We are seeking a customer-focused Technical Applications Specialist to join our client’s team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring an exceptional customer experience by supporting optimal product use through expert technical knowledge, training, and ongoing support.
The Technical Applications Specialist will provide responsive technical support for specialty diagnostic supplies and laboratory equipment to medical laboratories across Canada. The role includes partnering with customers and the sales team to deliver product demonstrations, providing post-sale and on-site support, resolving technical issues efficiently, and acting as a trusted link between clinical users and manufacturing partners to ensure customer needs are met.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Provide pre-sales technical support, including product demonstrations, presentations, and collaboration with sales teams to support business objectives
- Assist with equipment installations and ensure successful onboarding of new customers
- Deliver high-quality customer training and education—both on-site and virtually—for laboratory and clinical end-users on new and existing diagnostic equipment
- Provide post-sales technical support by troubleshooting issues, resolving customer concerns, and ensuring smooth implementation and ongoing product use
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of product features, applications, and relevant industry trends to serve as a trusted technical subject matter expert
- Act as a customer advocate by gathering feedback and communicating insights to medical device manufacturers, marketing, and product development teams to support continuous improvement
- Build strong relationships with customers through clear communication, responsiveness, and a service-oriented approach
- Travel up to 25% to customer sites and company meetings, as required
Required Skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related field, or a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) diploma; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
- Fluency in English with the ability to communicate verbally in French; written French is not mandatory
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and training capabilities, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach
- Ability to work independently while effectively managing time, priorities, and frequent travel (up to 25%)
- Demonstrated customer-focused mindset with the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
- Previous experience with medical device instrumentation and/or within a medical laboratory environment is considered an asset

The salary for this position ranges from $50,000 to $60,000 per year depending on experience.
Schedule: Monday to Friday – Hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm
