Job Full Description
Our client in the East End is seeking a dynamic Packaging Administrator to join their team on a 2-3 week contract with the possibility of extension.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration (or related field) with 2+ years of grocery retail experience, or an equivalent combination
- Strong retail background with solid industry knowledge, passion for food retail, and commitment to quality
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills with strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate effectively across all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other common software tools
- Clear, effective written and verbal communication skills
- Able to perform well in a fast-paced environment and manage shifting priorities
- Work with Business Support and other teams to resolve product and supplier issues
- Assist with new item development, including labels, packaging, sanitation, equipment, and sourcing
- Manage SKU access by location for distribution partners
- Coordinate and support testing of new or replacement items for efficiency and cost
- Maintain accurate packaging databases and product information
- Preserve current and historical data for inventory decision-making
- Report on key metrics (purchases, substitutions, vendor performance, compliance, cost, quality, tare audits)
- Coordinate item lifecycles with teams and distributors to reduce financial risk
- Manage off-cycle supply orders to ensure continuity
- Support development of departmental policies and procedures
- Provide administrative and reporting support for sustainability projects
- Perform additional duties as needed
